To commemorate their 35 years in the watch industry, Japanese watch retailer, “Tic-Tac” have decided to team up with Seiko with two 35th anniversary JDM editions. The two references, bracelet (SZSB006) & faux-gator leather (SZSB007).

First impression for the SZSB006 on hand was that it looked very much alike to the Seiko SARB017 Alpinist model. The color contrast by using a matte black dial with cream colored cathedral hands makes the watch very attractive with minimal pattern for a classic look.

In terms of specifications, there are identical between the two different colored JDM SZSB006 and SZSB007 watch models. The two JDM models use the same 40mm X 48mm size time-date stainless steel watch case, with 100m of water resistance, and both are powered by the automatic Seiko 4R35 movement.

The SZSB006 model comes in a matte black dial with cream colored cathedral hands & printed hour markers, along with Arabic markers at 12 and 6 o’clock. On the other hand, the SZSB007 features more or less the same design, with the exception of the hour markers, which are applied rather than printed, the Arabic numerals (which feature a closed six), and the dial color itself, which is done here in a grey sunburst color and a less vivid (and less faux aged-looking) lume.

An imitation crocodile strap makes this one look more appropriate for dinner and less appropriate for the field. Nonetheless, both the Stainless steel (SZSB006) & faux-gator leather (SZSB007) JDM models would be a great additional to ones watch collection.
